Please note that this program does not give you a license to use any of the songs in the database for presentation. You will need an appropriate CCLI license or obtain permission from the authors. The songs in this database are samples for demonstration of how to use the database only.

This software has no warranties.

This is a Microsoft Access 97 (or 2000) database for displaying songs on a video projector during Praise and Worship Service. This database was first created in Access version 2.00 and was upgraded to MS Access 2K last year. It is not the most user friendly but it does have the following features:

  • 2 Monitor Support (Windows 98, 2K or XP required)
  • Database of Songs
  • Primary monitor allows operator to choose what song / slide is displayed
  • Secondary monitor is for display for congregation.
  • Report to show the history of songs that have been sung.

There are currently over 20 presentation programs designed for displaying songs for Praise and Worship (Excluding Power Point.) I do not recommend Power Point for displaying words during worship.

Configuring monitors:

To use this software you will need two Video ports. You can purchase a special 2 port card, use a laptop with built in display and external display, or use 2 (usually PCI) video cards. Windows 98, 2K and XP allow for multiple monitor support.

Once you have the hardware functional you will need to go to the Display control panel and choose the Settings tab. Here you will need to enable both monitors. The primary monitor (1) should be set to 800X600 or better screen resolution. The secondary monitor (2) must be set to 640X480. The secondary monitor should be located to the left of the primary monitor and centered vertically with the primary monitor.

When you start the Songs 2K program a small main menu will appear. You can use the Songs button to add / delete songs. The Work with Schedule allows you to create a schedule and history of the songs that you have used. Print Sundays Songs Sung will display a listing of the songs that have been scheduled on a Sunday from the date you enter to the current date. The Presentation button allows you to choose a schedule and present them.

When you choose presentation you should the click the 'Restore" button. The Word Display form will not properly display on the secondary monitor if the program is maximized. Next you should move the Song Presentation 2K window to the TOP LEFT of the primary monitor. Then drag the bottom of the Song Presentation 2K window to the bottom of the primary monitor. Last drag the right of the Song Presentation 2K window to the far right of the secondary monitor. Now you can select a Date, AM/PM and click Open. You may need to reposition the various forms to your liking. When you have a form located where you want it to stay, click on it (to turn the title menu blue) and click File Save. Repeat this process for each form. You can also go to design view of the Word Display form to change the background picture. I recommend that you not change the Font or Font Size / Weight as this may cause the Word Display form to cut off words.
