The steps of a Godly Man or Woman are Ordered by the Lord.  How many of you know that Jesus was a Godly man?  In Luke 2:1-7 is a great example of how Jesus steps were ordered by the Lord.

First, God had a plan for Jesus life that He had revealed in the Old Testament.  He said that His Son would be born in Bethlehem.  Now God could have had one of Josephs relatives get sick or a business trip or something to cause Joseph and Mary to go to Bethlehem.  But He didn't do it that way.  No, He caused the Roman's to Tax the Jews and require that each man go to his Father's Birthplace.  God is not limited to our small expectations of how He can do miracles.  If God tells you something that He will do, he can order ANYTHING to make that miracle come true for you.

Second, God has His own time.  Many of the Old Testament people thought that their time was the time that God should send the Messiah.  God had his own time and ordered the situation so that everything that needed was in place when His time came about.  Many times us Christians think that God should do our Miracle NOW and when He doesn't chose to fit into our time table, then we lose our faith for that Miracle and many times never receive it because of our nonbeliever.  God has his own time for your miracle no matter what it is you've ask Him to do.  Don't be discouraged and encourage your faith because your miracle could be today, tomorrow, etc.

Third, God sent the Angels to the Shepards to tell them that it was time to go worship the baby Jesus.  God wanted His son to be welcomed into the World and paid homage to.  

Fourth, God's Spirit told Simeon to go to the temple and Anna to come in "that instant" when the Baby Jesus was brought to the temple for His dedication.  Why did God order their steps in this way?  Because out of the mouths of two witnesses a thing is established and God wanted His Son to be legitimized.  

Now turning to Psalms 37, We are going to read who is a "Godly Man" so that we can all know what is required by God for our steps to be ordered.  A Godly Man or Woman

• Is not envious of evil doers.  
• Trusts in the Lord and does good.  Feeds on God's faithfulness
• Delights themselves in the Lord
• Commits their ways to the Lord.  God will take you to the right path
• Rests in the Lord and waits patiently.
• Ceases from Anger
• Is righteous, shows mercy and gives.  The Bible says that he that give to the Poor lends to the Lord.  Which means that He will repay.
• Decisions are blessed
• Departs from Evil and does good
• Warns of Judgment that is coming
• Law of the Lord is in their heart
• Keeps God's Plan
• God is strength in time of trouble

If your steps are ordered by the Lord, then you really don't know where you are going.  Is this a problem?  Abraham, a Godly Man, steps were ordered by the Lord.  The Lord called him out of Ur and led him.  When asked where he was going, he said he was going to a city whose builder and maker is God.  We also are going to that city and the Lord will order our steps to that city.
