Grades 6th - 8th

    Let the Adventure begin! As an Adventure Ranger boys will explore new frontiers. Adventure Rangers today can experience more adventures than ever before possible. With technology and economies of scale, boys can enjoy activities that previous generations never even saw. Adventure Rangers will learn about camping and the great outdoors, but with the advantage of lightweight tents, backpacking equipment, and off rode mountain bikes.

Adventure Rangers are reaching for the Gold. The Gold medal of Achievement that is. The GMA is the highest Advancement boys can earn in Royal Rangers. It is equivalent to the Boy’s Scouts Eagle Scout. Every few weeks a Adventure Ranger have the opportunity to earn two merits—one Brown Bible Merit and one Red, Green, Gold or Silver skills merit. Adventure Rangers may also earn additional merits on campouts and outings or on their own initiative. There are over 290 merits available. The chart below shows which merits are scheduled for the 2003 –2004 school year. The Skills merits may very based on the boys interests.

When an Adventure Ranger completes a step on the advancement trail, he earns an Advancement patch. The merits and advancement patches are worn on the Royal Ranger uniform. Merits are awarded when they are earned. Advancement patches are awarded at Council of Achievements. The advancement trail is explained in much more detail in the Adventure Rangers handbook.

    The Adventure also continues to new frontiers including Rollerblading and model rocketry. Adventure Rangers is for  boys in 6th—8th grades.
